10 months in
Wednesday, Oct. 15, was the 10-month anniversary of the start of the Northside congregation, here in SJCampos.
I did a 20-minute overview of what has occurred in this time period, including one baptism, two transfers, classes and fellowship on Wed. nights, classes for the girls on Tues. nights, by Pedro and Karol. The men rotate tasks, Pedro, Fernando, and I, sometimes we ask Thiago to help.
That same evening we received visitors from a Guarulhos congregation, filling Cris's living room. It boosted our spirits.
Pray especially for the young man Gabriel, whom Pedro met and invited. He was searching for a church, feeling his need to seek God. He has been participating regularly.
This has been a challenging year for our larger family. One challenge was my spell last week which took me down for not a few days. It required two trips to hospital, antibiotics and other meds, and a visit to a specialist. I think I am no normal … if ever there was such a state of being for me.
I reprinted my book, As Palavras da Fé, whose quality was better than the first run. Many of the copies I've left with Pedro, who will mail them while I'm gone.
Vicki and I will travel Oct. 18 to the US, staying until Dec. 3. We will visit family members scattered around, as well as visit some supporters. We're still setting up our itinerary.
We renewed our passports for yet another 10-year period. Such processes with governments cause no little stress, but it went smoothly. The renewals required two trips to the US consulate on the other side of São Paulo.
