A baptism, the Festival, a book and a song
RANDAL & VICKI MATHENY | SÃO JOSÉ DOS CAMPOS (SP) BRAZIL | YEAR 42
Here are some highlights from recent events.

Camilly, Karol’s younger sister, was baptized Sunday, Mar. 29. Pedro and Karol had been teaching her for quite some weeks. Although she lives in the southern zone, she’ll be meeting with us in Northside for the time being.
The Festival of the Family of God Apr. 3-5 was a great success. Last year’s record was 100 people, this year 129 signed up. We had eight speakers from diverse locations, plus one who spoke during the breaking of bread on Sunday. This was the fifth year for it, we started with just over 50 people. (See some photos here.)
During the Festival I released my new book, whose translation is “Your First Love: An Appeal to the Church of God.” In 202 pages I seek to bring people back from the brink of progressive doctrine and encourage brethren to stand up to the incursions now being made.
Also at the Festival Pedro’s new song, “We Are the People of Christ,” was used as the theme song for this year’s theme, “The People of Christ.” It worked out very well. People were recording it to take to their home congregations. It is already included in our online hymnal.
Apr. 2 Vicki had another spell of tachycardia and we spent about 24 hours in the emergency hospital. Fortunately, she was released the morning of the Festival so that we were able to participate in the event.
I hope to catch up with more items in the next few days. Watch for it!
