Book effective for changes
A few days ago we received the following note from the northeast:
“I thank God for your life and for the book O Seu Primeiro Amor [Your First Love]. The copies I gave as gifts have been effective in prompting reflection. The congregation where I was born again in the Lord had some non-biblical practices, and these were left behind through obedience to the Lord and through the explanation of the subjects in the book.”
It’s good to receive this kind of feedback.
The book was released in April of this year at our annual Festival of the Family of God. It's subtitle is: An Appeal to the Church of God.
Two items are at the printer now (actually, two different printers). One is a volume of prayers, around 100 pages. The other is a new 24-page evangelistic study emphasizing God’s initiative.
Last week the specialist told Vicki her recovery was scary-good (my translation). A better translation might be “amazing.” He prescribed more physical therapy to regain the last bit of limberness. So right now she’s going all five weekdays, with her special driver, until we travel next month.
Saturday afternoon, 22, I'm driving our car to Guarulhos, with Pedro and Karol, to the Pimentas congregation. It's just over an hour away. Pedro will be one of four speakers at a couples' seminar that will go from 3 pm into the night.

- For the southside congregation which rented a house to meet in on the far east side of the city.
- For my sister Rita who also broke her shoulder a couple of weeks ago. She’s scheduled for surgery Aug. 25.
