Vicki moves to therapy stage

Dateline: 2026-06-27 | Vicki had x-rays done and consulted with the orthopedist last Friday. The shoulder has mended; he removed the sling. Now comes the therapy phase. One therapist last Wed. was very pleased with her condition and assured her she would recover complete movement.
She has been able to resume some of her home activities, but not all.
While Vicki was tied up, good friends from Taubaté were passing through, and they brought bread and other goodies. They had breakfast with us, the wife insisted on washing up the dishes. We’re thankful for their friendship.
It was Mother’s Day when Vicki fell and broke her shoulder while walking on the main through street of our little neighborhood. So six weeks of wearing a sling was not bad, all considered.
In other news
We attended Paulo Cesar’s study June 26 in his home. He’s teaching the course, “Let the Bible Speak,” from Salvador. Yesterday, he showed Scriptures about the nature of the church, including its organization, and worship. Afterwards, we had coffee, tea, and a snack.
The photo above was taken June 26. At his house the temperature was warm enough, with no wind, to hold the study in his outdoor “gourmet” space, as they call them here now.
¶ Weather has been cold and rainy the past few weeks, dipping below 60ºF. When you don’t have indoor heating, that gets cold.
¶ Our study this past Wednesday night was cancelled because of Brazil playing in the World Cup. (Everything stops for this.) Since we travel from one side of the city to another, passing through the central area, plus the rain and cold, which would have been problematic for Vicki, we thought it best not to get out. We’ll pick up next week the studies based on David Pharr’s book for new converts, The Beginning of Our Confidence.
¶ The Wednesday evening studies have moved back to Cris's house in the North Zone. We were hosting them in our home for a while, after Cris had started a new job. Seems I may have forgotten to mention this. The photo below was one of the last studies here.
